I have read “Calm my Anxious Heart” by Linda Dillow a couple of times as a study, and also as a reference for those times when I needed to have a boost in my level of trust and confidence in my Creator and best friend, Jesus Christ. A tag line on the back of this book reads:
“Women worry a lot. We worry about our children, our friends, our careers, our families, our spouses…the list could go on and on. Yes, we want to be content and trust God with our worries, but it’s a struggle to let go and free ourselves from the burden of anxiety. If you’re tired of worrying about all the what ifs in your life and want to experience the calm and contentment promised in Scripture, “Calm my Anxious Heart” is what you’ve been looking for.”
I think our moms in this Mom 2 Mom group will find this book very helpful in a practical, yet very insightful way. It is filled with the hard-won wisdom of a mom (and now grandma) who has pretty much seen all there is to see in her journey as a believer and as a woman and wife in full time ministry.
The book has a study guide at the end, and it is broken up into 12 weeks. I suggest that you follow the schedule to the left in order to stay in sync with the rest of the group on a discussion level. Note that there are catch up weeks so that you can…well, catch up!!! I will periodically add questions and comments to the blog, as will the other mentor moms, and hopefully you all will do so as well. If you have questions about using the comment section, email us and we will help you figure that out! Just make sure you sign up for a google account if you don't already have one, and that should be all you need to do in order to post your comments.
Enjoy this wonderful read, and may it calm all of our anxious hearts!
Blessings, Mary Erhard (mentor mom)
